In October,\u00a0the\u00a0Society of Automotive Historians<\/a>\u00a0gave its 2015\u00a0Nicholas-Joseph Cugnot Award<\/strong>\u00a0 to the book. The Cugnot Award is given to those deemed the best books in the field of automotive history published the year before, and in this case, the award was shared with\u00a0J. Saoutchik Ma\u00eetre Carrossier<\/em>, published by\u00a0Dalton Watson Fine Books. \u00a0In their comments, particular mention was made how these two \u00a0books made\u00a0history accessible and interesting.<\/p>\n

In the November issue of\u00a0Classic & Sports Car<\/a>\u00a0magazine, one year after noting the Lancia book as\u00a0a\u00a0\u00a0“Book of the Month” ,\u00a0Martin Buckley<\/strong>\u00a0penned a further\u00a0column<\/a>, noting that the “…text is scholarly but also straightforward and readable (with extensive reference notes at the end of each chapter — always a classy touch). He [the author] takes a broader view of the social and industrial background to De Virgilio’s working life and to the nature of Lancia as a company, rather than the usual narrow appraisal of the vehicles — a trap into which too many books fall.”<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
